The Superocean Heritage ?57 Outerknown pays tribute to the original 1957 SuperOcean and the cool, laid-back surfing lifestyle of the 1960s. Co-designed with Kelly Slater?s surf wear brand, it features a special ECONYL? yarn Nato strap, repurposed from nylon waste pulled out from the oceans, like fishing nets. Available in stainless steel, the 42 mm case features two signature elements of the original SuperOcean: a concave bidirectional ceramic bezel and a dial featuring oversized indices. Codesigned with Kelly Slater?s surf wear brand, the Superocean Heritage ?57 Outerknown is paired with a brown Outerknown NATO strap crafted from ECONYL? yarn. The Superocean Heritage ?57 Outerknown is powered by the Breitling Caliber 10, a COSC-certified chronometer.

Léon Breitling focused on chronographs, which were increasingly in demand at the time for industrial, military, and scientific applications as well as for athletic organizations. In 1889, Léon Breitling was granted a patent for a simplified model, which distinguished itself from its competitors through its sleek design, uncomplicated manufacturing process, and straightforward maintenance. Léon Breitling passed away in 1914 and his son Gaston took over the family business. He had inherited his father’s pioneering spirit, innovative flair, and an insatiable passion for chronographs, which he demonstrated in 1915 with the launch of one of the world’s first wrist chronographs with a separate push-piece above the watch crown.
