The sober lines of the Vintage 1945 evoke the aesthetic heritage of the early 20th century that Girard- Perregaux has so consistently espoused. In a vibrant tribute to Art Deco, the straight lines melt into curves and back again in perfect balance. The rectangular case places the Art Deco notion of geometry at the heart of its design. A complex work and art-deco design codes The case and sapphire crystal are curved from top to bottom and from left to right ; a convex profile more difficult to shape than a case with straight lines. The dauphine hands are delicately curved by hand to fit the shape of the dial perfectly. Various details such as the applied Arabic numerals, small seconds counter and the railway minute track are inspired by the first Vintage 1945 model. The Calibre GP02700-0003 The see-through case-back reveals the inhouse manufactured movement made of 178 components and its oscillating weight delicately engraved with a GP logo pattern. The GP02700 caliber, created in 2013, is the smallest in Girard-Perregaux’s automatic movement portfolio and one of the smallest in the watch industry.
