CONDITION In excellent overall condition with clear case stamps COMMENTS The Patek Philippe reference 5960P-001 was announced at Basel in 2006 as the company’s first watch to feature an in-house designed and manufactured annual calendar chronograph movement, Cal. CH 28 520. Only available in platinum with anthracite dial featuring a silvered chronograph sub-dial the model quickly became a success, if a little controversial due to the ‘bullseye’ nicknamed dial design, however that success was short-lived due to rumored over-production. Various alternate configurations were later available within a variety of case materials and all but the steel Ref.5960/1A-001 discontinued by 2014, with a newly designed white gold Ref.5960G-001 option announced in 2017. The rose gold version was released in 2009 as the 5960R-001 with a two-tone grey/crème dial featuring a dark base with light chronograph ‘bullseye’ chronograph subsidiary dial. The dial for the Patek Philippe 5960 in a rose gold case was updated at Basel 2012 to the final configuration with cleaner and more classic mono-tone opaline (5960R-011) or black (5960R-010) (and 5960R-012 with black calendar discs) options, available for less than 2 years, the rose gold 5960 was discontinued in 2014.
