Unmistakable personality and an aura of distinction. Westime (Southern California) is offering an exclusive version of the famous Pilot Type 20 Extra Special watch by Zenith, featuring an intense blue dial surrounded by a bronze and titanium case. Issued in a 25-piece limited edition, this aviatorâs watch exudes vintage elegance with a white-stitched blue calfskin strap, as well as a chestnut brown NATO variation.
Endowed with design codes and a powerful character, the Pilot Type 20 Extra Special exclusive westime edition by Zenith testifies to the pioneering role played by Zenith in conquering the skies. It features the DNA of the onboard instruments developed by the Manufacture in the early days of aviation: a high-precision mechanism, an imposing diameter, a large ratcheted crown enabling adjustment even with gloved hands, oversized luminescent Arabic numerals, as well as stylised hands ensuring perfect legibility.
The sturdy 45 mm case and its large screw-lock crown are made of bronze, a highly resistant anti-magnetic alloy that acquires a natural patina giving it a unique vintage touch. A brushed titanium bezel frames the matt blue dial, punctuated by large luminescent white numerals and hands. This colour scheme is echoed by white stitching on a blue calfskin strap with titanium pin buckle, while a chestnut brown distressed leather NATO version radiates the same authentic spirit.
La Pilot Type 20 Extra Special Westime Edition - exclusive Westime edition is driven by the automatic Zenith Elite Calibre 679 powering central hours, minutes and seconds functions, while delivering a 50-hour power reserve. In a nod to its fabled origins, the solid titanium case features a depiction of the plane flown by Louis Blériot, who crossed the Channel in 1909 with his Zenith watch firmly strapped to his wrist, guided by Zenith onboard instruments. Its side also bears a nameplate engraved with the inscription âCalifornia, XX/25â. An eminently virile watch for which the sky truly is the limit.
