Harry Winston Brand History

Harry Winston Brand History

The House of Harry Winston started its haute horlogerie journey in 1989, and it remains one of the most exclusive brands worldwide, combining its famous jewellery craftsmanship with exceptional movements. As an ode to the first Harry Winston Salon, which opened its doors in 1960, the timepieces carry the three arches of the Fifth Avenue location façade. They gracefully appear at 3 o’clock in the Harry Winston Midnight watches and Ocean collection, as well as at 12 and 6 o’clock for Avenue and Premier collections. True to its title as King of Diamonds, the history of Harry Winston includes some of the most famous gemstones in the world, such as the Jonker, the Taylor-Burton diamond, and the Hope Diamond, which Mr. Winston donated to the Smithsonian in 1958. But Harry Winston’s pioneering craftsmanship and innovative designs did not stop with jewellery pieces. The House’s timepieces are a true echo to its founder’s own preferred aesthetics. Additionally, the company brought innovation to the world of luxury watches through its first use of Zalium, a unique alloy of zirconium. The tri-dimensional dials are also a Harry Winston inauguration, becoming a signature code for the House.
