TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph: Night Racing Reimagined

TAG Heuer captures the glow of racing after dark through a bold expression of its icon with the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph, channeling the adrenaline of Formula1® night circuits.

Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer introduces a bold new expression of one of its most iconic creations with the latest TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph. From our vantage point at Westime, this limited edition represents a striking evolution of the Monaco line. Lit in electric color and built for high performance, it channels the adrenaline of Formula 1 racing after dark. This is the Monaco viewed through a contemporary lens, where audacity meets precision in equal measure.

A Legacy Shaped by Innovation

First launched in 1969, the Monaco immediately broke from tradition. Its square case, left-side crown and vivid blue dial challenged the conventions of watchmaking and quickly transformed it into a modern design icon. Over the years, the Monaco has become part of watch and cinema heritage, cemented by Steve McQueen wearing it in the 1971 film Le Mans. The connection between TAG Heuer, motorsport and cultural storytelling has shaped the Monaco into a watch with true generational influence.

Through each iteration, the Monaco has continued to evolve while holding fast to the qualities that define it. From early motorsport timing to today’s technical re-engineering, the Monaco remains one of TAG Heuer’s purest expressions of racing lineage and technical advancement.

A New Chapter in the Dark

This latest limited edition captures the atmosphere of night racing, where light, speed and contrast define the experience. The 39 mm case is crafted in black DLC-coated titanium, balancing resilience and lightness. A skeletonized dial transitions from violet to deep blue, a gradient that shifts from twilight to night, echoing the energy of illuminated circuits and vibrant urban skylines.

At night, the watch reveals its most distinctive details. Super-LumiNova elements glow in layered tones of blue, turquoise, green and purple, creating depth across the skeletonized architecture. Even the sapphire caseback carries an iridescent metallization that mirrors the luminous palette of the dial.

Inside, TAG Heuer’s in-house Calibre TH20-00 powers the timepiece with precise, long-lasting performance. Visible from both sides, the movement underscores the Monaco’s commitment to openworked design and mechanical transparency. A black rubber and embossed calfskin strap with violet stitching completes the look.

Each piece is individually numbered out of 600 and delivered in special Monaco packaging with purple accents that reflect the theme.

A Watch for Those Who Chase the Night

For decades, the Monaco has stood apart as a symbol for those who challenge expectation. This edition amplifies that spirit in the language of night racing, designed for collectors who appreciate technical clarity, expressive color and a strong motorsport identity. It is more than a watch suited for after dark. It is night racing, distilled onto the wrist.
