In just seven years of involvement in motorsport, Blancpain has unremittingly strengthened its presence in this compelling field of activity. Partner of Lamborghini and title sponsor of the “Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo” since 2009; official timekeeper of the FIA GT1 Series since 2010 – in 2011 Blancpain took on two important new commitments with the launch of the “Blancpain Endurance Series” and its participation as official partner in the “ADAC GT Masters” championship. In 2013, Blancpain also became a partner of the British GT Championship. 2014 sees a change of direction with the creation of the Blancpain GT Series uniting the Blancpain Endurance Series and the Blancpain Sprint Series under the same banner. Over the years, Blancpain has made a name for itself among car manufacturers, drivers and spectators as a worldwide reference in the field of GT racing. Blancpain’s involvement in the world of motorsports has taken a symbolic new turn with the creation of a team bearing the brand colours, Blancpain Racing.
Blancpain GT Series
Built on the exceptional success of the Blancpain Endurance Series, the Blancpain GT Series has an exceptional pedigree. Bringing the Sprint races under the Blancpain banner was a logical step forward in order to enhance the promotion of GT racing in Europe. The 2015 Blancpain GT Series combines the ultra-successful format of the Blancpain Endurance Series with the two-race sprint format of the Sprint Series. Blancpain Endurance and Blancpain Sprint will keep their separate classifications and award separate titles, but they will also be joined together through Blancpain GT Series titles for teams and drivers, for those in a position to compete in both.
Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo
The alliance between Blancpain and the iconic luxury sports car maker Lamborghini celebrates the technical performances and exclusive aesthetics of two manufacturers at the peak of their art combining tradition and innovation. The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo is a dream come true for motorsports enthusiasts since 2009. In 2012, Lamborghini and Blancpain launched a series in Asia to run alongside the established European competition. In 2013, the series continued in the US. The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo provides an exclusive platform for Gentlemen drivers entering individually or in teams of two to compete at the wheel of the bespoke Lamborghini Super Trofeo race car. The gentlemen drivers are divided into two categories: amateurs and pro-amateurs. Each race weekend is organized with one qualifying race and two 50-minute official races. The finalists of the three championships will meet up in Sebring, USA for the world final of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo.
ADAC GT Masters
Since 2007, the ADAC GT Masters has won the hearts of automobile fans. Blancpain is proud to announce its partnership with this thrilling championship based in Germany with select events run elsewhere in Europe. The ADAC GT Masters is a “PRO-AM” Championship with each car shared by a professional and an amateur driver. Each event consists of two 60-minute races. The two drivers share the work in both the qualifying sessions and the two one-hour races on a weekend. As a result, the starting grid is a varied mix of personalities: ambitious amateurs meet former Formula 1 drivers, experienced DTM players and also celebrities.
Through this partnership, Blancpain is further reinforcing its presence in the world of motorsport around Europe and consolidating the natural link between fine mechanical watchmaking and the automobile world.
Biritish GT Championship
The Avon Tyres British GT Championship is fast becoming one of the best-loved and most illustrious sports car championships in the UK.
Blancpain is associating itself with the series as official partner of the Avon Tyres British GT Champion and as naming partner of the “Gentleman’s Trophy Classification” for the first time in 2013, thereby earning itself a strong presence in the field of English GT racing. Featuring a mix of professional and amateur drivers, this championship offers various race formats on the various weekends, with two 60-minute races and one 120 or 180-minute race.
Blancpain Experience
During a Blancpain Race weekend, guests of the Manufacture from Le Brassus enjoy the opportunity of getting an inside look at the world of motorsport, including paying a visit to the Blancpain Racing pit to see the mechanics’ work at close hand, and to the timekeeping rooms to grasp the importance of each second. The highlight of the weekend is the gridwalk, during which the VIPs discover the atmosphere prevailing on the starting grid just a few minutes from the race start. Blancpain hosts its guests in the dedicated Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo village in an atmosphere cleverly mingling Fine Watchmaking and the art of living. During a tasting session and a conversation with the watchmaker who is present, they discover the latest collections from the Manufacture and its exceptional timepieces. Another great experience offered during the Race Weekends is the VIP Laps : a lap in real race conditions on board of a Lamborghini car. Seat belt required.
