Since 1865, Reuge manufactures traditional music boxes in the Swiss mountains – a carefully composed mechanical music movement housed in an elegant wooden box with or without wood-inlay.
Founded in 1865 in Sainte-Croix, the story of REUGE began with the production of pocket watches fitted with musical movements. Due to its unique know-how, REUGE is the only company in the world capable of perpetuating the prestigious manufacturing of luxury mechanical music boxes, having mastered the complex art of transcribing piano music, with up to 6 or 7 octaves, into a miniature mechanical piano containing either 36, 72 or 144 notes. Through its unparalleled expertise and highly complex movements, comparable to major horological complications, REUGE music boxes boasts an assortment of singing birds and musical watches with or without automaton.
