Beauden Barrett

BORN FOR A PURPOSE

Beauden Barrett was raised in a family of rugby players. He started his professional career in 2010 at just 19 years old. Only two years into his professional career, he was selected for the All Blacks. He became their starting Number 10 four years later. In 2015 he was a key player in helping the All Blacks become Rugby World Champions.

FIELD-TESTED TO THE EXTREME

Beauden Barrett wears the Black Bay Dark, a vintage-inspired black-PVD-coated steel diver’s watch which perfectly matches the All Blacks uniform. Equipped with a robust manufacture caliber offering 70-hour of power reserve, the Black Bay Dark takes inspiration from more than sixty years perfecting the ideal professional tool watch at TUDOR.

BEAUDEN BARRETT: REINVENTING HIMSELF

Beauden Barrett was elected the world’s best rugby player in both 2016 and 2017. He is only the second rugby player in history to twice receive this distinction, and also the youngest. Barrett wears the key No 10 jersey in the first five-eighth (or fly-half) position. Organizer of the defense as well as the attack, he astounded the tight defensive lines of adversarial teams with his ability to scythe through gaps and advance downfield toward the in-goal.

It was not always the case, however. At the beginning of Barrett’s All Blacks career, the nineteen year old was used as an impact player, brought in the game from the bench as a late substitution to try to make a difference in the crucial final minutes. In the space of a single season in 2016, Barrett reinvented himself to become number one in the world.
