Richard Mille Presents Contemporary Art, Vintage Cars, and Hamptons Style Luxury at The Bridge

The setting itself was undoubtedly a highlight of the event. Once known in racing history as the Bridgehampton Race Circuit, the property was considered one of America’s most legendary and challenging tracks. The sandy, hilly course overlooking Peconic Bay hosted the World Sportscar Championship, the Can-Am series and NASCAR races, attracting such drivers as Mario Andretti, Richard Petty and Stirling Moss between 1957 and 1974. Current owner Bob Rubin turned the site into a magnificent contemporary golf club in 2002 that maintains the iconic elements of the track, interspersed with vintage racing memorabilia, modern architecture, and a fine art collection. Notable cars from this year’s edition of The Bridge, Presented by Richard Mille, included a 1955 Ferrari 121 LM Spider by Scaglietti, 1957 Jaguar XKSS, the first of 16 built, a 1957 Porsche Speedster, originally raced by factory driver Lake Underwood and a veteran of the Bridgehampton Race Circuit, and a 1968 Chevrolet Corvette NART Le Mans race car, one of 17 Corvettes to have competed at Le Mans.

Additionally, McLaren presented their current luxury cars adjacent to a selection of Richard Mille timepieces that included the new RM 50-03 Tourbillon McLaren F1 Ultralight limited edition. “This event is my vision of high luxury,” said Mr. Richard Mille. “I love its cool, relaxed American style, which is family-friendly without snobbery or ostentation. The owner is a marvel, for he created something very original.”
