GLOWING PASSING HOURS
Ladies first! Last year, the iconic Happy Sport celebrated 25 years of boldness at Baselworld. Inspired by free-spirited women, this unexpected collection was brought to life thanks to the daring idea of combining stainless steel and diamonds. Ahead of her time with this unprecedented alliance, Caroline Scheufele wanted to create a collectible watch line that reflected contemporary women’s state of mind. The Happy Sport makes time its playground, always reinventing itself and revealing a new facet of its joyful personality like an elegant chameleon adapting to successive eras.
At Baselworld 2019, Chopard showcases a more feminine than ever Happy Sport interpretation with the revival of the ‘’gallet’’ bracelet, a code borrowed from the very first watch of this collection back in 1993. Paired with the oval-shaped dial, the talisman watch appears radiant, gracefully animated by 7 dancing diamonds moving at the rhythm of the women who wear them. Coming in 18-carat rose gold or stainless steel with a diamond-set bezel, the Happy Sport spreads its irresistible optimism by the beat of a self-winding movement, the 09.01-C, developed and crafted in the Chopard Manufacture.
For celebratory occasions, Chopard is enriching its L’Heure du Diamant Collection with 3 majestic jewellery-watches making every second mesmerizing. Declined in 30-mm diameter versions, these splendid timepieces reveal all Chopard Manufacture’s excellence by associating its watchmaking savoir-faire and jewellery-making virtuosity in a stunning quest for light.
Shimmering opal, fascinating malachite or iridescent lapis lazuli dials are beautifully completed by a diamond-set bezel, for which Chopard Artisans have individually crown-set each diamond, making it the ultimate timepiece for dazzling parties. CHOPARD L.U.C, THE ULTIMATE GENTLEMEN’S STAPLE
For men, it’s all about the L.U.C Collection, with new variations enriching the eponym watchmaking line named after Louis-Ulysse Chopard. Entirely manufactured in our Fleurier-based Ateliers, it epitomises the highest standards of Swiss watchmaking excellence.
The greatest novelty is undoubtedly the L.U.C Flying T Twin, Chopard’s first calibre equipped with a flying tourbillon. Animated by an exceptional chronometer-certified movement featuring a stop-seconds device, this charismatic timepiece is as technically sophisticated as it is aesthetic. Its extremely fine hand-guilloché handwork catches the eye first, followed by the ultra-thin rose gold dial crafted in ‘’Fairmined’’ certified gold, making it a watch to be proud of.
Designed for gentlemen connoisseurs who appreciate the finest watchmaking, this outstanding timepiece bearing the ‘’Poinçon de Genève’’ quality hallmark is limited to 50 pieces.
For those embracing simplicity in their everyday life while seeking excellence, the design purity of the L.U.C XP is the perfect option. No seconds nor date are to be seen on this impeccable vertical navy blue satin-brushed dial. The L.U.C XP belongs to the kind that focuses on the essentials, for it is all a modern gentlemen needs. Graced with rose gold accents on the curved numerals and adorned with a merinos-wool strap, it displays subtle contrasts and a perfect fit, recalling the spirit of Savile Row.
With a thickness of just 7.2mm, one could wonder how the L.U.C 96.53-L movement, as well as superposed barrels and a generous 58-hour power reserve fit. Each variation of the L.U.C Collection reflects the expertise and elegance of the Chopard Manufacture, where the magic happens.
The L.U.C Chrono One Flyback announces its return at Baselworld 2019, coming in slimmer versions as they now measure 42mm in comparison to the 44mm previous editions. The 2 new interpretations nod to codes of the past while showing off modern materials, for a resolutely contemporary gentlemen allure. Declined in a tone-to-tone grey version featuring a stainless steel case and a satin-brushed dial with a slate-grey alligator strap, the 250-piece limited edition exudes a natural, understated feel.
In the second version limited to 100 pieces and crafted in Titalyt, a material used widely in the aerospace or medical fields, the military green shade assures a sporty, powerful presence on the wrist. Both animated with the L.U.C calibre 03.03-L, the chronographs feature a flyback function enabling to measure short times in quick successions.
