TAG Heuer’s New Carrera Chronograph Sport is Driven by Precision and Shaped by Racing

The story of the TAG Heuer Carrera begins in 1963, when Jack Heuer introduced a chronograph designed specifically for professional drivers.  Inspired by the legendary Mexican race, the Carrera Panamericana, the timepiece was conceived with one priority:  legibility at speed.  Its dial was stripped back to essential information, with clear markers and a balanced layout that allowed elapsed time to be read instantly. This approach defined the identity of TAG Heuer Carrera and established it as a reference within racing circles.

Now, the new TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Sport offers a refined approach to proportions, improved ergonomics, and a stronger emphasis on the chronograph function. The 42mm steel case features a reduced profile, allowing the watch to sit with greater control on the wrist. Its bezel combines a visible steel cradle with a polished ceramic insert, bringing a new tension between elegance and sport. The pushers draw clear inspiration from pistons and high-performance engine components, giving the watch a racing character from the side profile. And a discreet but meaningful detail completes the case.  The Victory Wreath, now established as a powerful story code across recent TAG Heuer Carrera novelties, is engraved on the upper right lug of the Carrera Chronograph Sport. This signature connects the watch to the language of success.

Inside the timepiece is the in-house automatic Calibre TH20-00 movement, celebrated for its reliability and performance, visible through the open caseback. It features an 80-hour power reserve and five-year warranty. The date is positioned at 6 o’clock, while white tachymeter markings reinforce the connection to speed measurement. Each of the Carrera Chronograph Sport’s five versions shares the same architecture while expressing its character through contrast and color. The teal green timepiece brings a contemporary tone, with a sunray brushed dial, silver counters, and green lacquer pushers and ceramic bezel. The silver version presents the iconic panda configuration with black counters set against a silver dial, and black lacquer pushers and ceramic bezel. The black opalin reference introduces a more racing expression, with black counters and red chronograph details. And the blue-dial timepiece with blue lacquer pushers and blue ceramic bezel is offered on a steel bracelet, or a brown perforated leather strap.
